Korean-Style Spicy Pork Ribs

Sweet, spicy, and deeply savory Korean-style pork ribs, slow-cooked until tender and coated in a rich, sticky gochujang glaze.

    Fully thaw the pork ribs and cut them into pieces about 5 cm long.

    Add the Pork Ribs

    Arrange the pork ribs evenly in the rice cooker, add all the seasonings except sesame seeds, and toss well to coat.

    Close the lid and cook on Stew/Soup mode for 90 minutes.

    If your rice cooker only has a Cook mode, start one cooking cycle. After it automatically switches to Keep Warm, leave it for 30 minutes, then restart Cook mode.

    Count from the moment you first started cooking and cook for a total of 90 minutes.

    Finish

    Open the lid and toss thoroughly so the thickened fruit-puree chili sauce from the bottom of the pot coats the ribs again.

    Let the ribs rest for 5 minutes, toss once more, then transfer to a serving dish.

    Sprinkle with toasted sesame seeds as desired, and—Cheat Complete!

Cheat Notes

If you prefer less spicy food, you can use less gochugaru.
